What an emergency no-heat call involves
We start with what the system is actually doing. Does the thermostat call for heat, does the unit respond, does anything light or spin. From there we work back through the chain: power at the disconnect, control voltage, safety switches, ignition or reversing valve operation, blower and airflow. Most no-heat calls come down to one failed part or one safety doing its job. We tell you which it is, what it takes to fix, and whether we can do it on the same visit or need a part ordered.
What we check and what we replace
On a furnace we look at igniters, flame sensors, pressure switches, limit switches, gas valves, inducer motors and control boards. On a heat pump, heating trouble is often the reversing valve, the defrost board, a low charge or a failed contactor. Air handlers with electric heat give us sequencers and heat strips. In this climate, corrosion on terminals and control boards is a regular find, especially on older properties near salt air. We clean, test and replace what has failed rather than guessing at parts.
How we decide emergency repair is the right call
If the house is unsafe or unlivable cold, if there is a health concern, or if you have pipes and vulnerable family members to protect, we treat it as an emergency and come out. If the system is running but weak, we may find you a same-week slot instead so you are not paying for after-hours work you do not need. When the equipment is old, corroded through and failing repeatedly, we say so plainly and lay out repair against replacement so you can choose.

My heat is out and the breaker keeps tripping. Can I just reset it again?
Reset it once. If it trips again, stop and call us. A repeating trip means something in the system is drawing more current than it should, and resetting it repeatedly risks damage or fire.
Do heat pumps in Florida really fail on cold nights?
Yes. Reversing valves, defrost boards and contactors sit unused most of the year, then get asked to work on the coldest night. Corrosion from humid salt air makes those parts fail exactly when you need heat.
What if I smell gas while the heater is out?
Leave the building right away, take everyone with you, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or restart anything. Once the utility clears the property, call us and we will handle the repair.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, ice on the lineset, a humming outdoor unit. That detail helps us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
We check the thermostat, the air handler, the condenser and the electrical side, then measure what the system is actually doing. You get a plain explanation of the fault and the repair options before we start.
- Step 3
We repair and verify
Once the repair is done we run the system and confirm temperature split, drainage and airflow at the vents. If a part is on order, we tell you the timeline instead of leaving you guessing.

Why homeowners call us
- We plan for salt airCoastal humidity and salt eat coils, contactors and cabinet screws. We look for corrosion during every visit and treat it as part of the diagnosis, not an afterthought, so a repaired system does not fail again in the same spot.
- Built for constant runtimeFlorida systems run most of the year, so bearings, capacitors and drain lines wear faster than the manual suggests. We size repairs around that reality and point out the components likely to be next in line.
- Old houses and new onesIsland properties often hide ductwork in tight, damp spaces, while tract homes tend to have short, undersized returns. We have worked both and adjust the approach rather than forcing one standard fix.
- Clear talk, no upsell theatreWe tell you what failed, what it takes to fix it, and whether repair or replacement makes more sense for the age of the equipment. If a repair will hold, we say so and get on with it.
- All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
- Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
