My furnace will not turn on at all. What should I do first?
Check the thermostat batteries and mode, then look for a tripped breaker and the service switch near the unit. If those are fine, the fault is usually a control board, transformer or safety switch, and that needs a technician. Call us with what you found.
Is a no-heat call an emergency?

I smell gas near the furnace. What now?
Leave the building immediately, take everyone with you and do not touch switches. From outside, call 911 or your gas utility. Once they have made the property safe, call us and we will inspect the furnace, gas valve and connections before anything is relit.
What is a flame sensor and why does it fail?
It is a thin metal rod that proves the burner has lit. A coating of oxide or soot on the rod makes the furnace shut down within seconds of lighting. Cleaning or replacing it is a common repair, and we check the burners and ignitor at the same time.
Can an electric furnace be repaired, or does it need replacing?
