Ductless Mini-Split Installation

We install ductless mini-split systems in homes across Florida, for rooms that never get comfortable and for houses with no ductwork to work with. Homeowners call us for converted garages, additions, upstairs bedrooms, sunrooms and older properties where running duct would mean tearing into plaster. If a room is always hotter than the rest of the house, or a window unit is doing work it cannot keep up with, call us and we will come look at the space and talk through what fits.

What a ductless mini-split installation involves

A mini-split is two pieces: a wall or ceiling head inside the room, and a compressor outside. We connect them through a small wall penetration carrying refrigerant lines, a power feed and a condensate drain. Most single-room installs are a one-day job. We mount the head at a height that moves air across the room instead of down a wall, set the outdoor unit on a pad or brackets clear of splash and salt spray, and pressure test before we charge the system.

What we check and install

We start with the room, not the equipment. We measure the space, look at window exposure, insulation, ceiling height and how many people use it, then size the BTU capacity to that. Undersized units run constantly in Florida heat and never dehumidify properly. Oversized ones short cycle and leave the room clammy. We also check the electrical panel for available capacity, plan a line set route that stays short and straight where possible, and confirm the condensate has somewhere sensible to drain.

How we decide ductless is the right call

Ductless makes sense when adding duct is expensive, ugly or impossible, or when one room needs different temperatures than the rest of the house. Coastal properties near salt air get particular attention, since corrosion on coils and cabinets shortens equipment life and mounting height matters. If your existing central system is sound and the duct run to the problem room is just poorly balanced, we will say so. Sometimes the fix is duct work or a repair, not new equipment.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation — quick answers

Can one outdoor unit run several rooms?

Yes. Multi-zone systems support several indoor heads on one compressor, each with its own control. We size the outdoor unit to the total load and check that the line set routes are workable before recommending it.

Do mini-splits provide heat too?

Most do. They run as heat pumps, moving heat into the room on cool nights, which suits Florida winters well. We confirm the model you choose handles both modes before installation.

How noisy is the indoor head?

Quieter than a window unit, since the compressor sits outside. You will hear the fan on high speed. Placement matters in bedrooms, so we discuss mounting location before we drill anything.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, ice on the lineset, a humming outdoor unit. That detail helps us load the right parts before we drive out.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

We check the thermostat, the air handler, the condenser and the electrical side, then measure what the system is actually doing. You get a plain explanation of the fault and the repair options before we start.

  3. Step 3

    We repair and verify

Once the repair is done we run the system and confirm temperature split, drainage and airflow at the vents. If a part is on order, we tell you the timeline instead of leaving you guessing.

Why homeowners call us

  • We plan for salt airCoastal humidity and salt eat coils, contactors and cabinet screws. We look for corrosion during every visit and treat it as part of the diagnosis, not an afterthought, so a repaired system does not fail again in the same spot.
  • Built for constant runtimeFlorida systems run most of the year, so bearings, capacitors and drain lines wear faster than the manual suggests. We size repairs around that reality and point out the components likely to be next in line.
  • Old houses and new onesIsland properties often hide ductwork in tight, damp spaces, while tract homes tend to have short, undersized returns. We have worked both and adjust the approach rather than forcing one standard fix.
  • Clear talk, no upsell theatreWe tell you what failed, what it takes to fix it, and whether repair or replacement makes more sense for the age of the equipment. If a repair will hold, we say so and get on with it.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
